DITA Maps
DITA maps are used to organize references to DITA topics. OASIS defines DITA maps as “documents that collect and organize references to DITA topics to indicate the relationships among the topics. They can also serve as outlines or tables of contents for DITA deliverables and as build manifests for DITA projects.” The DITA Map is the base map document type. The other DITA map types are specializations of DITA Map. DITA maps have a .ditamap file extension.
Arbortext Editor also supports the DITA BookMap document type. The DITA BookMap is a specialization of DITA Map that adds book components, such as front matter, chapters, appendices, back matter, and so forth.
