Arabic support
Arbortext Editor supports the following characteristics of Arabic languages:
Right-to-left editing
Arbortext Editor supports right-to-left (RTL) editing at the text, element, and document levels. See Controlling directionality in a document for more information about RTL editing.
Contextual shaping
Arbortext Editor displays the correct Arabic characters based on their context in a document.
Combined characters
Arbortext Editor displays the correct Arabic character combinations based on both their context in a document and any associated diacritics. While combined characters are displayed as a single character, each character in the combination is treated individually during delete and cursor movement operations. For example, when using the arrow keys, it may take two or more moves to get the cursor across a combined character.
Arbortext Editor does not support the kashida character for justifying Arabic text.
