Associating a user-defined dictionary with a document type
You can associate a user-defined dictionary with a document type. You can also share a dictionary among document types.
To associate a user-defined dictionary with a document type:
1. Open the document type in Arbortext Architect.
2. Choose Edit > DCF to open the associated .dcf file in the DCF Editor.
3. In the DCF Editor, scroll down to the Options element. If there isn't an Options element in the file, add one.
*
Choose Tools > Document Type Viewer to view a list of the valid elements and their location in the .dcf file.
4. Place your cursor next to the Options element, choose Edit > Modify Attributes, and type the base name of the dictionary file (without a path or file extension) in the dictionaryName field. The dictionary name can only be eight characters.
Arbortext Editor searches the dictionaries subdirectory for the dictionary name. (Creating a dictionary using the userdict command automatically places the dictionary in this directory.) If the dictionary is located in a different directory, use the APTDICTPATH environment variable to specify the path to the dictionary.
5. Save the .dcf file, and then choose File > Exit to close the DCF Editor.
