If you want to create a named paste buffer to be the current paste buffer (the buffer that stores, and is replaced with each Cut and Copy), use the command set paste=buffername. The current paste buffer is also the buffer used by the copy_mark, paste, delete_mark, read, and write commands when no paste buffer name is specified.
