Enabling SOAP Support
You can use SOAP as the protocol for transmitting and receiving requests to Arbortext Publishing Engine. When you use the Arbortext Publishing Engine Configuration program to integrate Tomcat, you can enable the Arbortext Publishing Engine files to support SOAP at the same time.
The Arbortext Publishing Engine Configuration program is launched automatically when installation completes. You can enable SOAP at that time. if you have not yet installed Tomcat, you can run the Arbortext Publishing Engine Configuration program from the Arbortext Publishing Engine Configuration shortcut in your PTC program group.
SOAP support is implemented using the Apache Axis2 software. More information on Apache Axis2 is available from:
http://ws.apache.org/axis2/
*
There are potential security issues with SOAP and the Axis2 libraries. PTC recommends that you use HTTPS if you use SOAP. For more information, see Arbortext Publishing Engine Security Framework.
For information about using the Arbortext Publishing Engine Configuration program to manage integration with Tomcat and SOAP, see the Configuration Guide for Arbortext Publishing Engine.
