Setting the Graphics Path
The graphics paths that Arbortext Editor automatically checks are the environment variable APTGRPATH path setting, which defaults to the \graphics subdirectory of Arbortext-path, and the document's parent directory.
If there is an Arbortext-path\custom\graphics subdirectory, the \custom\graphics path is automatically prepended to the graphics path. Putting your graphics in the \custom\graphics subdirectory makes them automatically available, avoiding manual steps to add them to the path.
The path list is also automatically prefixed to include any graphics added to the Arbortext-path\graphics directory if you include %D in the path. When any graphics path parameter is set to a value of %^, the parent document directory will not be included when searching for graphics. Only the paths specified will be searched. If you want to include the current working directory in the graphics path, add a period ( . ) to the path. However, it is recommended that you do not include the current working directory in your graphics path, as this can cause inconsistent results.
Graphic files placed in any of the above described directories do not require a complete path name to be specified in the document. For other locations, follow these steps to add a directory to the graphics path:
1. Select > to open the Preferences dialog box.
3. Click on the
button next to the
Graphics option.
4. Use the Edit Preference dialog box to add your directory to the graphics path and move it to the right order in the path.
5. Click OK to save you changes and close the Edit Preference dialog box.
6. Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box.
Note that Arbortext Editor recognizes either the slash (/) or the backslash (\) in file paths entered at the Arbortext Editor command line.
