Beginning with 7.1 M050, Arbortext Editor does not ship with a Java Runtime Environment (JRE). In order to use Arbortext Editor, you must first obtain a JRE from Oracle (www.java.com) and install it.

Arbortext Editor will work with Java 8, build 202 or higher.

The environment variable APTJAVAVMPATH is supported for specifying the path where the Java Runtime Environment has been installed. If this environment variable is set, it will take precedence over a set javavmpath command.
