Arbortext Import/Export
Arbortext Import/Export is no longer provided as an option for an Arbortext Editor installation. If you have an existing Arbortext Import/Export license, you can add these entries to a custom installprefs.acl file to continue using Arbortext Import and Arbortext Import Workbench:
set featureImportExport=on
set featureImportMapping=on
For more information, see Product Option Configuration on Windows.
Arbortext Import/Export requires the Arbortext Publishing Engine to import and export documents.
Arbortext Import/Export must be installed and licensed on your Arbortext Publishing Engine.
Export stylesheet development, Import MapTemplate development, and document conversion can be performed directly on an Arbortext Publishing Engine server using Arbortext Publishing Engine Interactive. The Arbortext Publishing Engine is also the engine used by client workstations performing document conversions.
To import and export files (and do no Import MapTemplate or Export Stylesheet development), each Arbortext Editor workstation must be configured to use the Arbortext Publishing Engine for publishing.
Ensure that each client workstation has featureImportExport set to on in their installprefs.acl file and has the following set option values (or Advanced Preference settings):
peservices = on
peserverurl = <your_PE_server_name>
If your workstation is not currently connected to an Arbortext Publishing Engine server licensed for Arbortext Import/Export, you will not be able to import or export documents using Arbortext Import/Export.
To develop export stylesheets on Arbortext Editor client workstations, Arbortext Styler and Arbortext Import/Export must be licensed and installed on these workstations. Ensure these workstations have the same installprefs.acl and Advanced Preference settings as those for workstations used to import and export files.
To develop Import MapTemplates, Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86) and .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 Redistributable (or .NET Version 3.0 which includes the .NET Version 2.0 Framework) must be installed on each Arbortext Editor client workstation where Arbortext Import/Export will be used.
Arbortext Import/Export must also be installed and licensed on these workstations. Ensure these workstations have the same installprefs.acl and Advanced Preference settings as those for workstations used to import and export files. Additionally, ensure that featureImportMapping is set to on in each workstation's installprefs.acl file.
Arbortext Import does not support importing Hebrew, Arabic, and Thai content.
Refer to the Arbortext Import/Export chapter of the Customizer's Guide for information on configuring and using Arbortext Import/Export.
