The MathJax Library
The MathJax add-on library is provided as part of the installation of PTC Arbortext Layout Developer. The library is installed within the MathJax sub-folder of the libs folder. The library contains three files and a sub-folder of MathJax scripts:
• mathjax.3ns — a Layout Developer namespace of protected and encrypted tags which includes the ‘createGraphic’ function.
• mathjax_scripts.3ns — another Layout Developer namespace which contains tag versions of the contents of the mathjax_scripts folder. This namespace is linked to the mathjax.3ns namespace. If this file is deleted, it will be recreated from the contents of the mathjax_scripts sub-folder, allowing updates to occur. Care must be taken if the library is kept in a write-protected location such as the Programs folder in Windows as this will cause errors.
• libcfg.js — a JavaScript add-on library configuration file to set up the library in Layout Developer’s Library menu. This file sets the Library menu item to allow the user to enable MathJax in their template.
• mathjax_scripts — a sub-folder containing the MathJax library JavaScript files. These files are a copy of those found in the MathJax distribution.

We have tested Layout Developer using the version of the MathJax library we provide. Using a different version is not explicitly supported and so changing the contents of the mathjax_scripts folder is done entirely at the user’s own risk.
