PDF Versions
You can publish PDF output that conforms to a particular version of PDF. Specifying the version applicability of PDF in this way means that the PDF can be opened in a specific release of Adobe Acrobat (or equivalent).
Select the required PDF version in the PDF Options dialog box.
The following PDF versions are supported:

UI Options Supporting PDF Versions
PDF Options dialog box:
Compatibility field on the General tab — select the PDF version to which PDF output should conform.
FOM Objects Supporting PDF Versions
compatibility property of the fDFPrinter object - the default value is 7, for Adobe Acrobat 7 (PDF 1.6).
Variable Supporting PDF Versions
These settings can be included in sprint control streams and a document’s PDF properties.
The PDF setting $^_p268_compatibility defines the PDF compatibility level of a PDF.
The table below lists the values that represent each version:
