As previously mentioned, every single action within PTC ALD is controlled by a macro and every document is simply a list of macros that is run when the document is opened. Whilst this can be termed an automated process in its most literal sense it is also possible within PTC ALD to combine these set macros with programmatic actions to allow the most complex documents to be produced with the absolute minimum user intervention, if any at all. This section will explain a little more about the use of macros and how scripts can be employed to add any number of tests, functions and sub-processes to the macros to enable any type of conditional output required by any type of document.
