Glyph Selection
The introduction of OpenType support in 12.0.0.0 allowed Layout Developer to access glyphs within fonts, rather than only the characters. A font might contain many more glyphs than characters and they’re called based on the OpenType feature tables and font ligature tables. A popular request has since been to be able to use glyphs from within pseudo fonts and 12.1.0.0 allows this.
A new keyword is now added to the pseudo font control stream to enable this:
mapglyph 65,"ACaslonPro-Regular (OpenType)",239
This keyword will replace character 65 (‘A’) to glyph 239 which is in the ACaslonPro-Regular font.
