About PTC Arbortext Content Delivery
PTC Arbortext Content Delivery is a single source of service knowledge for the products you need to maintain or repair. PTC Arbortext Content Delivery contains details about all of the parts you need to service a product along with the information required to perform maintenance and repairs. Once you find the needed parts, you can add them to a shopping cart and then order them.
PTC Arbortext Content Delivery enables you to do the following things:
Work with a customizable home page
PTC Arbortext Content Delivery provides a home page that you can customize to suit your needs. For example, you can save favorite products to your home page enabling you to quickly open that product.
Search for product or service information.
PTC Arbortext Content Delivery has both basic and advanced search. The search looks for matching content inside your current level in the product hierarchy and the items below that level ensuring your search is focused on just the relevant information. Advanced search enables you to focus your search even further based on things like a product name or a specific type of information.
Browse a hierarchy of products to find the one you need to service.
The initial view of the product information begins at the product line level. You can either browse down through a product hierarchy or search the hierarchy to find a particular model or serial number. As you move down the hierarchy, PTC Arbortext Content Delivery keeps track of your current location and only presents information relevant to that area. You can apply a filter to restrict the information you view based on criteria such as a range of serial numbers or dates.
Once you find the specific product for which you are looking, PTC Arbortext Content Delivery provides the service and parts information relevant to just that product. This information is organized by the systems and subsystems in the product enabling you to easily find the desired information
Create notes
Once you are viewing the content for a product, you can add a personal note about that content to save things you need to remember. Notes can be private, or you can share them with others.
Save bookmarks
You can bookmark both products and documents enabling quick access to that information.
Build a custom book
You can select any parts and service information contained in PTC Arbortext Content Delivery and create a custom PDF book from that content.
Create and share shopping lists
PTC Arbortext Content Delivery lets you create shopping lists of parts you might need for future work. You can share those lists with the other people who work for your service groups.
Add replacement parts to a shopping cart
PTC Arbortext Content Delivery lets you have as many shopping carts as you need to get the job done.
Order replacement parts
Once you are satisfied that a shopping cart contains all of the parts you need, you can order those parts. PTC Arbortext Content Delivery maintains a record of your orders.
Work with a service group
PTC Arbortext Content Delivery enables you to work directly with a service group, such as a dealership. You can be associated with more than one group and choose the one you need for a particular job.
Work offline
If you do not have access to the network, PTC Arbortext Content Delivery enables you to work on your local device. You can synchronize your local information to the server once you’re back on the network.
Mobile Touch Interface Considerations
In PTC Arbortext Content Delivery Mobile Touch Interface, all the functionality is the same as in the desktop view. However, the mobile user interface has some changes as follows:
A new system level preference, Enable Global Search is added under the Search category of the administrator Preferences utility to enable or disable the Global Search box. The default value for this preference is false. Unless you enable this preference or navigate to a context, the Global Search box is disabled.
After enabling the global search from the administrator UI, tap to access the global search on your mobile device.
The internal links related to supersession, cross reference, alternate, and so on are hidden on the following pages and are visible only after tapping :
Partlist page
Shopping cart page
BOM page
Wish list page
Cart details page
The advanced filter option in the Siblings view is hidden for all information elements (IEs) on the mobile devices.
The product navigation pane filter and the advanced search facet filter are directly visible on the desktop view. However, these filters are hidden by default on the mobile devices and you must tap to display these options. Same applies for the filter on the What's new page.
On the Notes page, Edit and Delete icons are available instead of the drop-down visible in the desktop view.
By default, the application logo is displayed on all pages in the mobile view. However, you can choose to show or hide the application logo on all other pages except the home page, by using customization. For information about how to show or hide the application logo in the mobile view, see the Customizing the Application Logo and Header Color topic in the Customization section of the Administrator Help Center or the Customization guide.
