Using the PTC Arbortext Content Delivery Installer
The PTC Arbortext Content Delivery installer is a dynamic installer that offers different installation options based upon the products and features you select.
*
The PTC Arbortext Content Delivery installer will not execute properly on an operating system version that is not formally supported. However, you can still skip that validation and proceed with the installation, assuming that the operating system version will be updated after the installation process. For this, you must set the system variable SCI_RELAX_PLATFORM=1 before starting the installation. However, PTC strongly recommends that you update the operating system prior to installing PTC Arbortext Content Delivery to avoid possible issues or malfunctions.
Before installing PTC Arbortext Content Delivery download the release archive file from the PTC Customer Support web site at https://www.ptc.com/en/support. Note that you must have administrator privileges to install software on Windows systems.

When extracting the installation package to a local directory, ensure that the directory path name does not exceed a maximum of 6 characters. Exceeding this limitation prevents some installer package content from being extracted, which can cause issues during installation and runtime. As a best practice, reduce the extraction directory path name to only a few characters. For example, the directory path D:\InS has only 6 characters.
This is due to the Windows Maximum Path Length Limitation. For more information, see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa365247(v=vs.85).aspx#maxpath.
To launch the installer, from your installation directory, run the following command as administrator:
For Windows
setup.bat
For UNIX
./setup
At this point you may now begin to install your solution or optional products.
