Creating an Asset
 Note
Only administrators and authorized users can create assets in the ThingWorx Asset Monitor.
 
To create an asset, complete the following steps.
  1. In the ThingWorx Asset Monitor, click Create Asset.
  2. Enter a unique name for the asset in the Name field.
     Note
    Once the asset has been saved, this field cannot be edited.
  3. (Optional) Enter a description.
  4. Select an asset type from the Asset Type (ThingTemplate) drop-down.
     Note
    Once the asset has been saved, this field cannot be edited.
  5. (Optional) Select a thing shape.
  6. (Optional) Assign the asset model tags.
  7. Click Save.
