This sample XML file is used to load a set of XML files using the LoadFileSet utility.

Approved Manufacturer Part List (AML)
A list of the manufacturer parts that have been approved for a specific OEM part.
Approved Vendor Part List (AVL)
A list of the vendor parts that have been approved for a specific OEM part.
Component Engineer
Responsibilities of the Component Engineer typically include:
Defining and maintaining Approved Manufacturer Lists (AML)
Qualifying manufacturers and manufacturer parts
Supporting manufacturing
Supporting new product design and release to manufacturing
manufacturer
An organization that creates parts to be sold by vendors to the OEM. Manufacturers can also sell parts directly to the OEM.
manufacturer part
A part that is produced by the manufacturer. Manufacturer parts are listed in the AML for a specific OEM part.
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
A company that uses product components from other companies to build a product.
Original Equipment Manufacturer part (OEM part)
A part that is owned by your organization. An OEM part is a Windchill part that is created with the Source attribute set to Buy or Buy-Single Source.
part request
A request to create and release a new part that complies with the specified sourcing requirements and contains the appropriate technical documentation.
Procurement Engineer
Responsibilities of the Procurement Engineer typically include:
Selecting and qualifying vendors
Defining and maintaining an Approved Vendor List (AVL)
Sourcing Administrator
An administrator who has administrative privileges to create and maintain supplier data. This role is specific to Windchill Supplier Management. Typically, a Component or Procurement Engineer acts as a Sourcing Administrator.
sourcing context
A set of enterprise-related metadata about a vendor, manufacturer, or part that is intended to help Procurement Engineers make the most efficient choices for how to source a BOM. The sourcing context allows the creation of AMLs and AVLs based on specific conditions. For example, a location or country where the product is sold.
sourcing status
Determines whether a manufacturer or vendor part is approved for a specific OEM part. OOTB, the sourcing status values include: Preferred, Approved, and Do Not Use.
supplier
A vendor or a manufacturing company that provides parts to the OEM.
Supplier Management
A system for managing supplier relationships and associated data.
vendor
An organization that sells parts to the OEM.
vendor part
A part that is supplied by the vendor. Vendor parts are listed in the AVL for a specific OEM part.
