Editing a Part Request
A Design Engineer can edit a part request to provide additional information. The PR Coordinator edits the part request to attach the resultant OEM part and to prepare the part request for approval.
To edit a part request:
1. From the information page of the part request object, select Edit Part Request from the Actions menu.
The Edit Part Request window opens and the part request is automatically checked out to you.
2. If necessary, edit information in the following fields:

Priority
Set a value to High, Medium, Low.
Required By
(Optional) Specify the date by which you need the part.
Multiple Sources required?
Choose Yes or No.
Description
Describe the new parts you need.
Justification
(Optional) Provide a reason for creating the new part.
3. Click Next
The Attachments page appears.
4. On the Attachments page, you can attach documents and URLs to accompany your request. You can perform the following actions:
a. Attach a local file – Click and then click the Browse button to select a file. If desired, add a description for the file.
b. Remove an attachment – In the Attachments table, check the items that you want to delete and click .
c. Add a URL as an attachment – Click and specify the attachment number, URL, file name, and description.
d. Add an external location as an attachment – Click to provide information about objects that are not electronically linked to the part request (for example, a reference to a drawing or a file location on a different file system).
5. Click Next.
The Related Parts page appears.
6. On the Related Parts page, you can attach parts that can be used for your request. To modify attachments, do the following:
a. Add a part – Click to add a part. Specify search criteria in the Find Part window and click Search. In the Search results table, check the part that you want to add and click OK.
b. Remove a part from the table – Check the part that you want to remove from the table and click .
7. Complete the part request approval by attaching the resultant OEM part that was previously created in Windchill. To attach a resultant part, click Find next to the Resultant Part field, and search for the OEM part to include. Typically, the OEM part that you are including has the AML/AVL previously defined. That information is available to the Design Engineer once the part request is approved.
8. If you want to save the part request without checking it in, click Save. Otherwise, click Check in to check the part request with your changes back into Windchill.
9. Click Finish
The Edit Part Request window closes.
