The PR Coordinator reviews the request and verifies that all required information has been included. If information is missing, the part request is returned to PR Creator for rework.
*
If the part request is submitted with an OEM part and the associated AML, the task assignee can select the Fast Track option, which skips some of the validation steps and sets the part request to the Ready for Approval state.
Create OEM Part with Reference AML
Component Engineer
The Component Engineer creates an OEM part and references the AML for this part request. The OEM part must be attached to the part request as the resultant part using the Edit action.
Complete the task when the OEM part is added to the part request and an AML is created.
Conditional activity after this task checks if the OEM part is attached to the part request and if it is not checked out. When such check fails, control is returned back to this task and a validation message appears in the Special Instructions field.
Create Reference AML
Component Engineer
The Component Engineer reviews the part request and locates a manufacturer part to source. During this task, Component Engineer can contact the PR Creator using the discussion forum.
Find Alternate Sources
Component Engineer
The Component Engineer locates additional sources for the OEM part and updates the AML.
Create AVL
Supply Base Manager
The Supply Base Manager locates vendor sources for the manufacturer parts and updates the AVL.
Validate Cost Estimates
Supply Base Manager
Supply Base Manager validates the cost estimate.
Implementation
The PR has been validated. The OEM part and the corresponding AML are created. The required symbols, alternate sources, the AML/AVL, and the target cost are being created.
