Modifying the Local Site
*
When the file vault service starts, a local site is automatically generated. You can modify the name and URL of that site, but it is not typically required.
When the file vault service starts, a local site named main is generated automatically. Typically, you do not need to modify the name or URL of the main site, but you can do so if you need to. Typically, you modify the main site rather than create a new local site. The main site URL is the value of the property wt.httpgw.url.anonymous in the wt.properties file.
In the Site Management window, the site name for the Windchill site to which you are currently connected is followed by the label (This Installation). To modify the site, select it and then click Update. You cannot select the Main or File Server role for the site to which you are currently connected.
Windchill software ensures that the automatically generated site labeled (This Installation) can continue serving its role in the event of a change in the value of the property wt.httpgw.url.anonymous in the wt.properties file. If the value changes, Windchill assigns the new URL to it, and a warning message is displayed on the main site console.
After vaulting or replication have begun, you can still update the name and URL a site. However, you must ensure that:
All folders accessible through the old URL are accessible through the new URL.
These folders are properly mounted to all hosts of the site.
The host names are correct.
