Editing a Subplan
To edit a subplan, use one of the following actions:
From the Schedule, select the subplan and then click Actions > Edit Selected Objects or select Edit from the right-click actions menu of the subplan.
Navigate to the subplan information page and select Actions > Edit
The above actions are also available from the table Actions menu.
The Edit Subplan Activity window is divided into following steps:
1. Under the Subplan, complete the following fields:
Field
Description
Name
Enter the name of the new subplan object.
Description
A brief summary of subplan.
Owner
Select a team member from the drop-down list to be assigned as the Subplan owner.
Subplan
Assign a reference to plan or plan activity in another Plans within same or different Project or Product context using Find icon. Reference includes Plan, Plan Activity, Summary activity and Milestones. In the case of automatic execution, a Plan cannot start without assigning a reference to subplan.

If the Parent plan is in Manual execution mode, then search results show only plans and activities that are manually executed. If the Parent plan is in Automatic execution mode, then search results show plans and activities that are automatically executed
2. Under the Notifications, complete the following fields:

Description
Deadline
Enter the date by which the subplan should be completed. Click the calendar icon to select a specific date from the calendar and select a specific time using the drop-menu. It is not necessary deadline specified must be same as that of referenced plan or activity.
Before Deadline
Enter a number into the Day(s) Before Deadline field. You are sent an email notification if the activity has not been completed by the specified date. For example, if the deadline for an activity is July 15 and you enter 5 into this field, you would receive an email on July 10 (if the subplan has not been completed).
After Deadline
Enter a number into the Day(s) After Deadline. You are sent an email notification if the subplan has not been completed but the deadline has passed by the specified amount of days.
3. Under the Status and Risk, complete the following fields:

Description
Status
Status is automatically rolled up from the referenced plan or activity, or from Parent plan if the plan is cancelled. You cannot manually edit this field.
Green — No risks or obstacles; ready to proceed.
Yellow — Caution. Check before proceeding.
Red — High risk. Do not proceed.
Status Description
A brief explanation of the status setting.
Risk
Identifies the probability that the activity can be completed by the due date. Possible values are Very High, High, Medium, Low, Very Low, and Unavailable.
Risk Description
A brief explanation of the risk setting.
Click OK to edit the subplan. Click Apply to save your entries and continue editing the subplan.
