Managing Disconnected Participants
Disconnected participants are participants whose distinguished names no longer exist in the user directory services as defined for Windchill. A disconnected participant will appear in Windchill with a status of Disconnected from directory service . You can search for disconnected participants from the Participant Administration utility and complete one of the following actions:
Reconnect the disconnected participants
or
Delete the disconnected participants from Windchill

Disconnected users can be automatically reconnected by Windchill. Set the User Automatic Reconnect preference to Enable to allow automatic reconnection. Set the preference to Immediate to allow automatic reconnection only immediately after disconnection is detected. For more information, see Setting Security Preferences.
Disconnected Participants Actions
Use the following search, repair, and delete actions to manage disconnected participants:
Search disconnected participants
From the actions menu on the Participant Administration table, select Search Disconnected Participants.
The Disconnected Participants search window opens.
1. Enter values in the search criteria field and click Search.

The selection criteria fields are not case-sensitive and you can include the asterisk (*) wild card character. You can also click Search without entering any values in the fields to display all available participants.
Participants matching the specified criteria appear in the Search Results table.
2. Select the participant that you want to maintain, and then click Add to add the selected participant to the Participant List box. More than one participant can be selected.
3. Click OK to add the selected participants to the Participant Administration table.
Reconnect disconnected participants
From the right-click actions menu, select Reconnect Disconnected Participant on the disconnected participant that you added to the Participant Administration table.
The Reconnect Disconnected Participant search window opens.
1. Enter values in the search criteria field and click Search.

Participants matching the specified criteria appear in the Search Results.
2. Click a participant that you want to maintain, and then click Add to add the selected participant to the Participant box.
3. Click OK to reconnect the disconnected participant, or click Cancel to close the window and cancel the action.
Delete disconnected participants
To delete disconnected participants, select Delete from Windchill from the Actions menu.
