Associating a Document with a Standard Control Characteristic
Open information page of standard control characteristic and click the Related tab.
You can view, add, change, or remove documents associated with a control characteristic. The following types of document association tables are displayed:
Described By Documents — Displays the version-specific documents for the selected control characteristic or related to control characteristic.
Reference Documents Displays the related documents that contain essential information for the selected control characteristic.
Standard Procedures — Displays the standard procedures related to control characteristic.
Processing Resources — Displays the processing resources related to control characteristic.

The following table explains the icons and their actions available for Described By Documents and Reference Documents sections under this tab:

Description
Add new Document
Opens the New Document window where you can create and associate a new document with the control characteristic.
Add existing Documents
Allows you to associate an existing document with the control characteristic.
Remove Selected
Removes the selected associated document.
Copy
Places the selected document on the clipboard, so you can associate that document for another control characteristic.
Paste
Places the selected document on the clipboard, so you can associate that document for another control characteristic.
You can search a document using the search bar. Also, you can select the table view by clicking the drop down list next to Described By Documents and Reference Documents.
When a control characteristic is linked to an operation, associated documents are copied from control characteristic to operation link. The Linked to Standard Control Characteristic attribute will display:
No – for the copied documents from control characteristic to operation link.
Yes- for the documents on the control characteristics.

The following table explains the icons and their actions available for Processing Resources section under this tab:

Allows you to add an existing processing resource to a control characteristic.
Remove
Removes the selected processing resource.
Copy
Places the processing resource on the clipboard.
Paste
Places a processing resource from the clipboard in the selected location.
Adding an Existing Processing Resources to a Control Characteristic
To add an existing processing resource to a control characteristic in process plan browser:
1. Open information page of standard control characteristic and click the Related tab.
2. In the Processing Resources section, click Add Existing. The Processing Resources window opens.
3. Enter the search criteria and click Search. The existing processing resources are displayed below.
4. Select the check box next to the processing resource click OK.
A record of the processing resource is created for the cc. When this control characteristic is linked to an operation, the related processing resource is also copied.
