Define Applicable Parts for Standard Control Characteristics
You can define applicable child parts on the standard control characteristics of the parent part using one of the following methods:
Creating Standard Control Characteristic
1. Select a model annotation and the child parts or child part occurrences of the parent part that owns the model annotation.
You can select the child parts or child part occurrences from any level under the parent part.
*
If the selected child parts have multiple occurrences, all the occurrences of the part will be considered when applying the standard control characteristic in the usage mode. If you want to apply the standard control characteristic only to specific occurrences, create the standard control characteristic in the occurrence mode.
2. Click Create Control Characteristic.
3. Click Yes to confirm the action.
The standard control characteristic is created for the parent part that owns the model annotation and applied on the selected child parts or occurrences. The Applicable Parts column in the Control Characteristics tab of the parent part displays the path of the applicable child parts. If multiple occurrences were selected when creating the standard control characteristic, multiple paths are shown separated by a semicolon.
Using Tree Structure
1. In the tree structure of BOM Transformer, select the required standard control characteristics and the child parts or child part occurrences on which you want to apply the standard control characteristics.
Ensure that the child parts or occurrences belong to the parent part that owns the selected standard control characteristics.
