About Alternate Equivalent Links in BOM Transformer
You can use the Assemble action in an upstream view of BOM Transformer to create multiple alternate assemblies in a downstream view from existing assemblies in the upstream view. An alternate equivalent link exists between the existing assembly in the upstream view and multiple alternate assemblies in the downstream view.
You can also create an alternate equivalent link between the upstream part and the downstream part using the Create Equivalent Link action.
To create the alternate equivalent links in BOM Transformer, perform the following steps:
1. Select a part in both the upstream and downstream views between which you want to create an alternate equivalent link.
*
The Create Equivalent Link action is disabled if an equivalent link or alternate equivalent link exists between the selected parts.
2. Click Create Equivalent Link from the middle pane toolbar. The Create Equivalence Link dialog box opens.
The Occurrence Link Enabler and Carry over from upstream check boxes are selected by default.
3. In the Link Type list, select Alternate Equivalent.
4. Click OK. An alternate equivalent link gets created between the selected parts in upstream and downstream.
*
If you do not select anything in the Link Type list, an equivalent link is created between the selected parts by default.
