Allocating Made From Parts to an Operation
You can allocate a Made From part to an operation in the Process Plan Browser. However, the process plan related to the operation must be associated with the parent part of the Made From part. You can allocate a first-level Made From part to an operation. From second level onward, the Made From part can be allocated only if its intermediate parent part is a phantom part.
*
You cannot allocate the Made From part even if the Occurrence Allocation From Any Level attribute on the process plan is set to Yes.
Perform the following procedure to allocate a Made From part to an operation:
1. In the Process Plan Browser, click Open Related Part in the Tree Picker action set.
2. In the Tree Picker window, right-click the displayed part and select Show/Hide Specific Information > Made From.
The associated Made From parts are displayed.
3. Perform any of the following procedures:
Drag the selected Made From parts to an operation in the tree structure.
Select an operation in the tree structure, and drag the Made From parts from the Tree Picker window to the Part Allocation tab.
Select the Made From parts to be allocated, right-click and select Copy. In the tree structure, right-click the operation under which you want to allocate the parts and click Paste.
Select the Made From parts to be allocated, right-click and select Copy. Select an operation in the tree structure, and click in the toolbar of the Part Allocation tab.
The allocated Made From parts appear under the operation in the tree structure and on the Part Allocation tab. The Allocated Parts table in the operations information page also displays the allocated Made From parts. These parts are also displayed for the relevant operation in the work instruction.
*
The Visualization tab does not support the display of Made From parts.
The Made From parts appear in the tree structure only if the preference Show Part Allocations on Tree is set to Yes.
You cannot allocate a Made From part that is already allocated to another operation.
Similarly, you can allocate a Made From part to a standard operation. For more information, see Allocating a Part Under the Standard Operation.
You can also allocate a Made From part to an operation as an operated-on part. For more information, see Working with Operated On Parts.
