Enterprise Systems Integration Managed Baselines
Windchill ESI can be configured to create ESI managed baselines while publishing the part, process plan, resource, or EPM document structures. You can also create them in situations where individual objects for which you can create baselines include other baseline objects in the ESI response. ESI users can use these baselines to track published objects. A separate baseline is created for each distribution target in a transaction.
The baseline name is created by concatenating the following fields separated by an underscore (_) character:
Transaction number
Distribution target number
Object number of the associated object if present
The Description field of the baseline contains the complete information related to the identity of the resulting object, such as its object ID, revision label, and iteration number, BOM type and alternate BOM number, CAGE code.
*
If you change the distribution target number, the names of existing baselines are not updated automatically.
Baselines are created in Windchill ESI based on the following criteria:
Child objects marked as unchanged are included in the baseline, in order to get the final structure available in the ERP system.
Child objects marked as deleted are not included in the baseline. If the only change to a structure is the deletion of one or more child objects, then during publishing the baseline is created for the remaining unchanged child objects.
When more than one associated BOM is published, separate baselines are created for each BOM.
If a transaction fails, the most recent successful baseline is reused.
