Managing ERP Connector Distribution Targets
For ERP Connector to publish Windchill objects to distribution targets, information about these destination systems must be made available to ERP Connector. This is done by creating distribution target definitions known as ERP Connector targets. Once the ERP Connector targets are created, they can be associated to various Windchill objects. This association allows ERP Connector to determine which distribution targets the Windchill PDMLink objects are being published to. For more information, see the online help.
In addition to associating various Windchill PDMLink objects to a distribution target, you also need to define a strategy for how to assign distribution targets for all the other objects that are related to the object being published.
As anERP Connector administrator, it is important to understand how exactly information about a destination system is made available to ERP Connector. This is achieved by sending the following parameters in the Windchill ESI response:
Destination
Target Identifier
The following sections describe the above parameters as well as how to:
Create, edit or delete a distribution target using the Manage Distribution UI.
Associate ERP Connector distribution targets to Windchill PDMLink and Windchill MPMLink objects.
Define a strategy for assigning ERP Connector distribution targets to objects associated with the object being published.
