Discussion Subscriptions
You can subscribe to a discussion, topic, or comment to receive an email notification when new topics or comments are posted. This is different than being added as a participant to a discussion. Participants do not receive email notifications, but are able to view updates from the My Discussions table.
*
Notifications are sent regardless of the topic or comment creator; consequently, you receive email notifications for your own contributions to a subscribed discussion, topic, or comment.
Discussion Subscription
To subscribe to a discussion, click the subscribe icon on the Discussions table toolbar. A notification is sent when a new topic or a new comment is posted.
To remove and delete the subscription, click the unsubscribe icon .
*
Once you subscribe to the full discussion forum, Subscribe and Unsubscribe are removed from the right-click actions menus of topics and comments.
If you subscribe to the full discussion and have preexisting subscriptions to topics or comments, you will receive duplicate notifications (one for each subscription). To unsubscribe from comments or topics within the forum, you must first remove your discussion subscription. Once your lower-level subscriptions are removed, you can re-subscribe to the forum.
