Auditing Administration
The Auditing Administration utility provides the ability to capture information about events that change primary business objects such as CAD documents or parts. Windchill’s security auditing feature provides a mechanism to enable event-based logging that provides a historical record of who did what that caused changes in the Windchill database. Two types of predefined events are supported: service events and summary events. The security auditing feature also provides a mechanism to retain historical records of security-related events, such as privilege changes, team changes, and denial of access.

Description
Audit Log Purge Management
Site administrators can purge the historical audit logs by date. Audit records are purged using a First-In-First-Out methodology by specifying the Purge Records Through date. The administrator can elect to save the audit records to a Windchill document (wt.doc.WTDocument) by selecting Save purged records to a Document.
Usage and License Reporting
(Windchill PDMLink, Windchill ProjectLink, and Arbortext Content Manager only) Site administrators can view and distribute usage reports.
License Usage Reporting
(Pro/INTRALINK only) Site administrators can view and distribute license usage reports.
Security Audit Report Queries
Site administrators can view and execute the queries that were saved in the site context.
Security Audit Reporting
Site administrators can generate reports using various filtering mechanisms including date, event, organization, context, object type, and user. The report can be previewed, generated, and exported to a file immediately, or the report generation criteria can be saved for later execution.
