Setting a Box Spatial Rule
To define the box spatial rule:
1. Select the spatial rule icon on the Visualization tab, then select Set Box Spatial Rule.
The Box Spatial Rule Coordinates window opens. By default the X, Y, and Z values for the minimum and maximum coordinates include the entire structure.
2. Enter the new X, Y, and Z coordinate values in both the minimum and maximum coordinate input fields. You can enter zero as well as positive and negative real numbers.
*
Spatial filter dimensions can be manipulated graphically using the spatial filter volume representation in the Visualization tab.
Click and drag the coordinate system gnomon by its origin or one of the axis to move the entire filter volume.
Click and drag a face of the box or sphere to increase or decrease the filter volume. The spatial filter coordinates change as you modify the filter volume.
*
All six coordinate values are required. The minimum values must be smaller than the corresponding maximum values.
3. By default, parts that are partially within the box volume are included in the structure. Select Remove items that are partially outside the bounding box to include only those parts that are completely within the box volume.
4. Click OK to dismiss the Box Spatial Rule Coordinates window and apply the rule to the part structure.
*
The bounding box for positioning and extended positioning assemblies may appear blank, and they are not used or evaluated.
