Deleting Adapters
This procedure explains how to delete adapters at the site and organization level.
Deleting an adapter is a permanent deletion. Deleting an adapter also removes all association entries related to the adapter. Adapter associations are listed in the Adapter Associations table. There is no undo once the adapter has been deleted. If you deleted an adapter by mistake, you can add it back by creating a new adapter.
When attempting to delete an adapter, one or more warning messages may display cautioning you that deleting an adapter:
Permanently deletes all associations to Windchill contexts
Permanently deletes all associations to Windchill contexts and mapping files for the adapter
Removes any repositories and context associations to the adapter.
Any software defects created by the adapter become invalid.
1. From Site > Utilities or Organizations > Utilities select Adapters Administration in the System Administration section of the page to open the Adapter Administration window.
2. To delete a singular adapter:
a. From the Actions column in the object row of the adapter you want to delete, click Delete .
b. The system generated message box displays reminding you of the consequences of deleting an adapter.
Click OK to permanently remove the selected adapter from your site or organization.
Or,
Click Cancel to revoke the delete action.
3. To delete multiple adapters simultaneously:
a. Click the check box next to the names of the adapters you want to delete in the Adapter Definition table.
b. Click Delete above the Name column.
c. A system generated message box displays reminding you of the consequences of deleting multiple adapters.
Click OK to permanently remove the selected adapters and any context associations of the adapters from your site or organization.
Or,
Click Cancel to revoke these delete actions. Uncheck the check boxes next to the names of the adapters you had selected to delete.
