Setting the Life Cycle State of a Defect
A defect goes through different stages in its life cycle. An administrator or a user with the appropriate access control permissions can change the life cycle state of a defect. Use the following procedure to set the life cycle state of a defect. After you change the state, the remote defect associated with the defect also gets updated based on the value mapping.

You can only set the state of a defect if you have Administrative or Set State permission for the defect.
1. Open the defect information page.
2. Select Set State from the Actions list. The Set State window opens.
3. In the States field, select the life cycle states for the defect from the drop-down list. The default states are Open, Under Review, Resolved, Accepted, and Reopened.
4. Select the Terminate running processes checkbox to terminate the processes listed in the Related Processes table.
5. Click OK. The Set State window closes. The information page refreshes and the current state of the defect is highlighted.
