Save as a New Project
You can create a new project from the current one by saving it as a new project. This action is only available to project managers and administrators.
To create a new project or program from an existing one, use the following procedure:
1. Navigate to the project information page and select Actions > Save As New Project or Save As New Program.
2. In the save as new window, enter the following information:
New Project Name—Enter a new name that is unique within the organization. While the original name appears by default, an error message appears if you do not change it.
Description—Enter a brief description of the project. Enter up to 4,000 characters.
Select the project objects to be copied. You can select as few or as many checkboxes as you want. The most frequently copied objects have been selected by default.
3. Click OK to create the new project and close the window.

If your project includes multiple plans, only the default plan is included in the Save As New Project action.
Your scheduled synchronization selections are automatically included in the new project. These options are only available for projects and to users with Windchill PDMLink or Arbortext Content Manager installed alongside Windchill ProjectLink.
If you select Deliverables, the subject objects of type document associated with the deliverable activities are included in the template. The same is true for documents associated with deliverable activities that are shared with the project from a PDM context.
If your project plans contain subplans, the subplan references are not included in the template.
