Creating an mBOM from an eBOM
You can use the Creo View explorer to select the engineering bill of materials (eBOM) parts that are used in a manufacturing bill of materials (mBOM). Creating an mBOM from an eBOM using the Creo View explorer automatically creates equivalent and occurrence links between upstream and downstream parts. All eBOM part representations are duplicated to create the new mBOM parts.
To create an mBOM from an eBOM:
1. Select the eBOM assembly to select parts from.
2. Click the open in explorer with structure icon in Creo View.
The selected eBOM appears in the Creo View explorer.
3. Launch a second browser session and select the mBOM assembly that is to have the eBOM parts in the first browser session.
4. In the Creo View explorer, select the eBOM parts that are to be transformed into the mBOM.
5. Using the context menu, select Copy.
6. In the second browser session, paste the copied eBOM parts into the correct location, under the displayed mBOM assembly.
If the Paste with Associative BOM Links preference has been set and equivalent parts exist, the BOM transformation panel appears.
7. Double-click inside the Add Options column and define how you want the parts transformed into the mBOM from the drop-down list, then click OK.
