Schedule Table Actions
Actions are available from the table Actions menu and from the right-click actions menu of individual activities in the table.
*
If the plan is in auto-execution mode, the availability of several actions depends on the project, plan, and activity state. For more information, see Plan States and Available Actions.
The availability of actions also depends on your access. For more information, see Understanding Data Accessibility.
In addition to common actions, the following actions are available:
Assign one or more resources to the activity.
Resources track work associated with the activity.
If you have been assigned as a resource to multiple plan objects, select the checkboxes next to those activities and then select Actions > Edit Multiple Assignments to track work for several resource assignment tasks at once.
Edit the project plan in Microsoft Project.
*
To edit certain plan attributes such as the plan name, calendar, currency, and cost, select Edit from the right-click actions menu of the plan node . The plan node is always in the top row of the Schedule table.
Insert Sub-plan Above
Create a subplan to inserte above the selected activity or subplan.
Insert Sub-plan Below
Create a subplan to inserte below the selected activity or subplan.
Insert Sub-plan as a Child
Create a subplan as a child for the selected activity. The selected activity is updated to indicate that it is a summary activity, reflecting the work, cost, and status information of subplan.
*
You cannot add a plan or activity as a child for any selected subplan.
Edit the selected activities.
Export as Template
Export the plan as a template. This creates a ZIP file that you can save to your local machine.
Export the plan to Microsoft Project.
Import a plan from Microsoft Project.
Increase Indent
Move the selected activity down a level within the plan, indicating that it is a child activity or sub-task to another activity.
For example, to indicate that one activity is comprised of several smaller tasks, indent those tasks below the larger activity. Those tasks become child activities, and the larger activity is converted to a summary activity.
The summary activity is updated to reflect the work, cost, and status information of any activity indented beneath it.
Increasing indent of an activity in an executing summary activity does not change the actual start date of the summary activity.
Create an activity to be inserted above the selected activity.
Create an activity to be inserted below the selected activity.
Create a child activity for the selected activity. The selected activity is updated to indicate that it is a summary activity, reflecting the work, cost, and status information of the child activities.
For more information about summary activities, see Summary Activity Calculation.
Paste an activity or subplan above the selected activity.
Paste an activity or subplan below the selected activity.
Paste an activity as a child activity for the selected activity. The selected activity is updated to indicate that it is a summary activity, reflecting the work, cost, and status information of the child activities.
For more information about summary activities, see Summary Activity Calculation.
Create a new activity in the plan. The new activity is created below the selected plan object or at the end of the plan if an object is not selected.
New Sub-plan
Create a new subplan in the plan. The new subplan is created below the selected plan object or at the end of the plan if an object is not selected.
Create a new deliverable to associate with the activity. The availability of this action depends on the activity type and whether the Link deliverables with project activities option is selected when the project is created.
Capture the attributes of all plan objects in a baseline.
Create up to five activities at a time. This applies only to plan activities.
Decrease Indent
Move a child activity (an activity indented below a summary activity) up a level within the plan. For example, if a summary activity contains a child activity that is no longer associated with the summary activity work, you can decrease the indent of that child activity to make it independent.
When you decrease the indent of a plan object, the scheduling information for the summary activity is updated to reflect the removal of that child activity.
*
If you decrease indent, all child activities from under a summary activity, the summary activity is converted back into a typical activity. Attributes originally set for that activity (such as duration, finish dates, and resources) are lost. You must manually edit the activity to reset those values.
Decreasing indent of an activity in an executing summary activity does not change the actual start date of the summary activity.
Start Execution
Manually start a plan.
You can execute a scheduled manual plan using this action when the property com.ptc.projectmanagement.plan.startManualPlan, in wt.properties file, is true. The default is false.
Save as Template
Save the plan template and add it to the Templates table. These templates are available from the Plan Templates view at the site and organization levels.

Pause the selected activity. You cannot track work for a suspended activity. A subplan cannot be suspended . You can only suspend the reference plan or activiity, not the subplan.
Pause plan execution. No tasks can be completed and delivery of subsequent tasks is prevented until planning or resource issues are resolved.
*
You cannot increase indent or insert an activity or a sub plan in an executing or a completed plan activity.
The last remaining plan activity, sub plan activity, or summary activity cannot be deleted from an executing plan.
