Uses Tab
The Uses tab provides information such as Name, Number, Version, End Item, Line Number, Quantity of part usage when you select redline. Use this table to perform the following actions:
View attribute information of child parts in an assembly
Add existing or new parts as children of the redline or parent part
Remove child parts from the redline or parent part
Edit attributes on the usage relationship between a child part in the table and the redline or the parent part selected in the redline structure
Compare the old and new changes, with the color indicating the type of changes
The following table describes actions and the part attributes shown in the default table view on the Uses tab. For a detailed description of all part attributes, see Part Attributes and Attributes Description:

Insert Existing
Insert an existing part into the redline structure. For more information, see Inserting an Existing Part.
Insert New
Create and insert one new part into the redline structure. The new part is created as child of the selected redline in the redline structure pane. The new part is added as an affected object on the change task. For more information, see Creating a New Part.
Remove Selected
Remove a part from the structure.
* 
Removing a part from a part structure does not delete it from the database. It only removes the usage relationship to the parent part.
* 
The Uses table shows the removed part as red strikethrough, you cannot perform any actions on the removed part.
Edit Usage Attributes
Edit attributes associated with the relationship between the redline or the parent and child parts in a redline structure. For more information, see Editing Usage Attributes.
Edit Attribute Value
Edit a selected usage link attribute value. For more information, see Editing Attribute Values.
Attributes Description
The following table describes the part attributes shown in the default table view on the Uses tab:
Attribute
Description
Change Indicator
The type of change that occurred when compared with the base object. For more information, see the Change Indicators for Usage Link section in Uses Tab.
Number
The unique numeric identifier for the part. This attribute may be automatically supplied by a standard part number generator when parts are created in your system.
Name
The text identifier for the part. The name does not have to be unique.
Version
The revision and iteration of the part.
End Item
The top assembly part in a product structure that is manufactured and delivered to customers.
Line Number
The position of this part within a manufacturing bill of materials (BOM) in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Quantity
The quantity of the part used within the assembly.
Unit
The unit of measurement applied to the quantity of a part used by an assembly.
Trace Code
The code to trace the manufactured copies of a part using a serial or lot number.
Reference Designator
An alphanumeric code to identify individual occurrences of a part used within a product structure.
Find Number
An attribute to cross-reference a part in a product structure with the same part in an assembly drawing.

Change Indicators for Usage Link
The change indicator displays the summary of type of change that occurred when comparing the base object with the redline
The following table explains the icon and description for the Change Indicator column:

Blank
Indicates that the part is not modified.
Edit
Indicates that the part attributes or usage are modified.
Insert New
Indicates that a new part is inserted into the redline structure.
Insert Existing
Indicates that the existing part is inserted into the redline structure.
Replace with Existing
Indicates that the part is replaced with the existing part into the redline structure.
Replace with New
Indicates that the part is replaced with a new part into the redline structure
Remove
Indicates that the part is removed from the redline structure.
