Managing Attribute Build Rules
The attributes passed from a CAD document to a Windchill part are defined using the WindchillType and Attribute Management utility.
Attributes that can be passed can be on one of the following objects.
EPMDocument (Iteration)
EPMDocument Master
EPMMember Link (Occurrence)
A Windchill administrator is able to define the following.
The complete set of global attributes that can be driven by the CAD document on the associated part.
*
The Name of the attribute on the CAD document drives the same-named attribute on the associated part.
Which attributes in the full set are propagated only from the CAD document to the part, as opposed to bi-directional propagation.
For more information about mapping attributes, see About Attribute Mapping.
When you define a Contributing Image, or a Contributing Content association, a conflict is presented if the target part has a soft-attribute with a single value constraint, and more than one CAD document is contributing a value for that attribute. During the build, if any of the attribute values have changed, then the corresponding part is iterated. Otherwise, the build service does not iterate the part.
