Viewing 2D and 3D Representations
Use the following steps to view 2D and 3D representations for all parts with published geometry generated CAD models by creating Parts List representations.
Parts List Structure — A PVZ representation of the parts list supplied to the technical illustrator as input to creating the final technical illustration used in the parts list.
Published Parts List — A representation (typically PDF or HTML) of a parts list and its associated illustration(s). This representation is useful for routing a parts list for review.
For more information about how to create a Parts List Representation, refer to the Windchill Help Center under Specialized User Capabilities > Service Information Management > Getting Started with Service Information Manager and Service Parts > Creating a Parts List > Creating and Editing Parts Lists.
Use the following procedure to view 2D and 3D representations for a Part.
1. From Windchill, select Information Structure, or Folders from the Navigator pane.
2. In the Information Structure or Folders window, right-click the part you want to view.
3. In the right pane, click on the Visualization tab.
Selecting the image of a part expands the part structure and highlights the part in the part structure pane.
Selecting a part in the part structure pane highlights the same part in the Visualization tab.
*
You must have Automatically Select from Structure to Visualization and Automatically Select from Visualization to Structure set using the Toggle the automatic selection preference icon at the top of the visualation pane. These preferences are turned off by default. For more information, see The Visualization Tab.
