Importing BOM Data
In order to import BOM Data into Windchill, you must first generate it from your ECAD application. This procedure will differ between applications, so consult your ECAD application’s documentation for the proper procedure. Once that has been done, the resulting file must be in an accessible location (that is, your workstation’s hard drive, or a network drive that you can access, etc.). Once that has been done, perform the following procedure:
1. From the Windchill Workgroup Manager, navigate to the workspace.
2. From the workspace, click on the design document’s info icon to open the info page.
3. From the info page, select Actions > Manage BOMs. The BOMs Manager window will open.
4. From the toolbar, select the Import button. The Select File window will open.
5. Navigate to the location of the file, and select it. Click OK.
The data will be imported and BOM will be created according to the BOM Definition. (For more information on BOM Definitions, see Using BOM Definitions). The BOM will be visible in the BOMs Manager window.
