Viewing and Editing Measurement Systems
The measurement system information page allows you to view and edit the measurement system. Access the information page for a measurement system by selecting the measurement system in the navigation pane, or by selecting View Information from the right-click actions menu for the measurement system.
*
When a new measurement system is created, and OK clicked from the New Measurement System window, the information page for the measurement system is automatically displayed in edit mode.
Clicking Cancel to exit edit mode does not delete the newly created measurement system.
The following properties display for a measurement system:
Name—The name of the measurement system. The measurement system name cannot be edited.
Description—An optional description of the measurement system. The description can contain no more than 200 characters.
The list of base measures and their current default units for the measurement system. Each base measure can be edited to have default measurements with any supported units string that is compatible with the base measure. The value for a base measure can contain no more than 50 characters.
Use the following procedure to edit a measurement system:
1. Select Edit from the Actions menu on the measurement system information page, or from the right-click actions menu for the measurement system in the navigation pane. For more information, see View and Edit Modes.
2. Edit the Description and base measures as needed.
3. Click Save or Done to save your changes. When you save your changes, the system verifies that each base measure entry is syntactically valid and compatible with its base measure. If any entries are invalid, revise them and save your changes, or click Cancel to discard those changes and return to view mode.
