Viewing and Setting Attribute Visibility
From the Attributes tab for a type, you can view and set the visibility of all attributes on the type by operation. Selecting the Visibility by Operation view displays the current visibility settings for all attributes by operation. Changes made here are immediately reflected in the Visibility tab of the attribute information page.
Setting Attribute Visibility
To change the visibility of attributes for specific operations, use the following procedure.
1. Select Edit from the type information page Actions menu for the type to enter edit mode.
2. Select the Visibility by Operation view from the view drop-down list.
3. Select the desired visibility option for each attribute and operation combination you want to set. The options for visibility are:
Read/Write—the attribute can be viewed and edited.
Read Only—the attribute can only be viewed.
Value Hidden—the attribute name is displayed, but the value is hidden.
Hidden—both the attribute and the value are hidden.
4. Click Done to save the changes and return to view mode, or click Save to save the changes and remain in edit mode.

Some visibility settings defined on certain attributes may not be reflected throughout the user interface. These attributes include: Name, Number, and all user- or participant-related attributes. To hide these attributes from a specific operation, exclude these attributes from the corresponding attribute layout for the appropriate screen type. Enhancements are planned to close this gap in a future release.
