Tasks and Administrative Privileges
The initial setup, creation, and subsequent updates of the supplier data are considered administrative tasks that require administrator privileges. Another set of tasks involves browsing, searching, or creating reports on supplier parts -- these are considered general user tasks, as they do not require special privileges.
To better understand the division between the administrative and user tasks, refer to the following table.

Importing and exporting data using Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet
The import/export using a spreadsheet does not require administrator privileges. For import from spreadsheet you need the same permissions as you would if you performed the same actions (for example, create a new part or modify an existing BOM) manually.
