Renaming a Group
By renaming a group, you replace the current name in the Windchill database, in the directory entry for the group, and the groups in which this group is a member.
*
To change the name in the group's directory entry, you must have write permission to the directory server containing the group entry.
To rename a group, use the following procedure:
1. From the right-click actions menu of the group to be renamed, select Edit Organization. You may need to add the group to the Participant Administration table.
The Edit Group window opens.
2. Edit the existing value in the Name field.
3. You can also edit other fields in the Edit Group, Add Members, and Assign to Groups steps as described in Editing a Group.
4. After making the desired changes, click Finish.
All of the desired changes are made, including the name change. Changing the group name changes the distinguished name used for the group that is stored in the Windchill database as well as in the directory service.
