Type and Attribute Management: Enhancements to Support for Cascading Attributes
Product: Windchill
Release: 11.1 M020
Benefit
New capabilities are added for cascading attribute rules in Type and Attribute Management utility.
Additional Details
An attribute which is not backed by enumerated value list can now be added as a driven attribute in a cascading rule. You can create a rule where a driven attribute can be hidden. You can also create a rule where it becomes mandatory for the user to assign a value to a driven attribute. For more information, see Cascading Attributes Rules Example.
In a cascading rule, you can now use an attribute that has a default value defined. For an attribute backed by enumerated value list, the default value must be taken from the list. For more information, see Default Values Tab.
While assigning values for the cascading attributes in a rule, the values which are not available for selection appear in the strikethrough font in the Select Values: section. For more information, see Enumerations and Cascading Attribute Rules.
