Association Actions for CAD-driven Design
Once you create a CAD model assembly in your CAD authoring environment and save it to a workspace, an enterprise product structure can be created in Windchill. You do this by associating a Windchill part (new or existing) to each CAD document (model) in your structure, and then you check that structure into Windchill.
The association process can be accomplished in one of the following ways.
Automatically, as part of the Check In action.
Using the workspace Actions menu.
Using the CAD document’s right-click action menu.
Upon check in, the build process uses the CAD document relationships to build an analogous enterprise product structure composed of Windchill parts.
