Windchill License Exclusion Group provides the capability to allocate test and administrator user with a license without being accounted with the purchased license count. This group is available at site level only. Users or groups consisting of test and administrator user can be added as members of License Exclusion Group. By default, this group is not a member of any of the license group. The License Exclusion Group can be added as member of any license group based upon requirements. The members of this group can log in and perform any actions on the license features without consuming the purchased license count.

The Windchill License Exclusion Group is not a member of any license profile.

The following sections explain the behavior when License Exclusion Group is added as a member of any Active Daily User (ADU) license group or Named User group:

When the license exclusion group is added as a member of any Active Daily User license group, then users who are members of license exclusion group can log in to Windchill and access Active Daily User license features without consuming purchased license. The available count of license will not get decremented when members in the license exclusion group member log in.

If the user is added as a member of both license exclusion group and Active Daily User license group, on logging in to Windchill, the user will not consume the purchased license.

If a user from Active Daily User license group already consumed license for a day and is later added to the license exclusion group, then the consumed license will not get released for that particular day.

If the license exclusion group is added as a member of any Named User license group, there is no restriction in membership count for license exclusion group member.
