Reconciling Differences with the Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer
The Equivalence Comparison Report, launched from the Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer window, is used to reconcile differences between upstream parts and downstream parts.
This report is divided into the sections described in the following table.
Section
Description
Upstream BOM
Displays the upstream parts used in the report.
Compare
Compares the quantity of the selected part used in the upstream BOM, and the quantity of its equivalent part used in the downstream BOM.
>: Indicates that the quantity of a part used in the upstream BOM is greater than the quantity of a part used in the downstream BOM.
<: Indicates that the quantity of a part used in the upstream BOM is less than the quantity of a part used in the downstream BOM.
=
: Indicates that the quantity of a part used in the upstream BOM is equal to the quantity of a part used in the downstream BOM.
??
: Indicates that a quantity comparison cannot be done.
Downstream BOM
Displays the downstream parts used in the report.
Reconciliation Section
Contains actions that can be used to reconcile differences. For more information see Reconciling Differences.
The attributes that appear in this report are described below:
Attribute
Description
Part
The name of the part. Equivalent parts are displayed on the same line.
Total Qty
The quantity of the selected part used in the BOM.
Assembly
Indicates whether the selected part is an assembly with child parts.
Available Actions
The following table explains the actions available from the toolbars on this table:

This action does not automatically refresh the window. If you want to ensure that you are working with the latest iteration of the part in the new window, refresh the window.
Select in Explorer
Use to display a selected part in an open explorer. Select the option you would like to view the part in (for example, Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer)
Back
Selects the previous part listed in the table.
Forward
Selects the next part listed in the table.
Filter Reconciliation Table
Use to filter the discrepancies and inconsistencies between upstream and downstream BOMs.
Refresh tables with latest discrepancies
Updates the Upstream Downstream Reconciliation report to include any new part differences.
Reconciling Differences
The Equivalence Comparison Report, launched from the Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer, can be used to reconcile differences between an upstream eBOM and its equivalent downstream mBOM. The following actions are available in this section:
Icon
Action
Description
Highlight Selected Discrepancy
Highlights a discrepancy selected in the Upstream Downstream Reconciliation window in the Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer.
Select Next Usage
Navigates the structure to find the next appearance of the selected part.
Highlight selected discrepancy under next equivalent context
Highlights the next part discrepancy that matches the selected equivalent context for the part.
Remove Selected Part
Deletes the selected part from the structure.
Assemble As Selected Part
Adds the copied part as-is. When selected the part cannot be updated, and is added to the mBOM.
