Generating Operations Using NC-XML Files
To generate operations using NC-XML files use the following procedure:
1. Check in an appropriate ProEngineering .asm file into Windchill. Doing so creates a corresponding EPMDocument which then generates and attaches an XML file as a secondary document to the EPMDocument. It is this XML file that will be used to generate process plan operations.
2. Navigate to the Documentation tab of the Process Plan Explorer.
3. Add the EPM document as an associated process document. For more information, see Associating a Document with an Object.
4. In the CAD Documents table
click the generate operations from NC-XML file icon. The associated document is then queried for XML content that can be used as an operation.
5. In the Generate Operations from NC XML File window select your import options:
Import NC Operations Only: Imports any operations included in the XML file and allocates resources as appropriate. Steps are not imported.
Import NC Operations And Steps: Imports any operations and steps included in the XML file and allocates resources as appropriate. Steps are imported as sub-operations of the operations they are associated with.
6. Click OK.

Resources must already exist inWindchill MPMLink before they can be imported.
