Creating a Standard Operation
You can create a standard operation from the:
Folder
Browser or the Structuretab of a Process Plan
To create a standard operation from the Folder browser:
1. In Windchill MPMLink, navigate to the folder detail page of a product.
2. In the Folder Contents toolbar, click Actions. Click New > Standard Operation. The New Standard Operation window opens.
3. Specify the following details for a standard operation:
In Category, select a standard operation type from the menu.
In Name, enter a name for the standard operation.
In Location, click Autoselect Folder if you want the standard operation object to be created in the product folder from which you launched the action. Otherwise, click Select Folder and enter a path to an alternate folder.
4. Optionally, enter values in the Description, Long Description, Nominal Value, Upper Limit and Lower Limit fields for the standard operation.
5. Click OK.
A confirmation message appears that the object was created successfully.
To create a standard operation from the Structure tab of a Process Plan:
1. Select the process plan node and perform one of the following actions:
Right-click and select Insert > Insert Operation.
Click Action > Insert > Insert Operation.
In the Editing toolbar, click Insert > Insert Operation.
The Insert Operation dialog box opens.
2. Specify the following details for a standard operation:
In Category, select a standard operation type from the menu.
In Name, enter a name for the standard operation.
In Location, click Autoselect Folder if you want your standard operation object to be created in the product folder from which you launched the action. Otherwise, click Select Folder and enter a path to an alternate folder.
The newly created standard operations appears under operations in the process plan node.
3. Click OK.
