Creating a New Manufacturing Standard Group
To create a new manufacturing standard group:
1. In Windchill MPMLink, navigate to the folder detail page of a product.
2. In the Folder Contents toolbar, click Actions. Click new New > New Manufacturing Standard Group. The New Manufacturing Standard Group window opens.
3. Specify the following Attributes for a standard operation:
In Name, enter a name for the manufacturing standard group object.
In Location, click Autoselect Folder if you want the manufacturing standard group object to be created in the product folder from which you launched the action. Otherwise, click Select Folder and enter a path to an alternate folder.
4. Optionally, enter values in the Description field and select View from the drop down list. Numberis automatically generated.
5. Click OK.
A confirmation message appears displaying that the object was created successfully.

You can edit the Descriptionof the manufacturing standard group in the Attributestab of the manufacturing standard group browser.
To create a manufacturing standard group in explorer, use the following procedure:
1. Select File > New Standard Group. The New window opens.
2. Select options from the Context Type, Context Name, and Type drop-down lists. To immediately check out the new manufacturing standard group, select Check out object.
3. Click Next.
4. Fill in the required fields (indicated by an asterisk) and any other desired fields.
5. Click OK . The newly created manufacturing standard group appears in the Manufacturing Standards Explorer.
